Wordless Wednesday

30 Dec

We decorated with Christmas flowers earlier this month. Daddy loved Christmas and for the past two years we decorated the tree too. Last year someone stole all the ornaments, so we decided to skip the tree this year.

Love this picture. I put flowers for Jack, Leona and Jackie in Sisterdale earlier this month. It was always important to Leona that flowers be on the graves for Spring, Autumn and Christmas. I think it’s a wonderful tradition to teach our grandchildren.

I definitely agree. I would often go with my grandmothers and my parents to the cemetery and place flowers on the graves. Daddy’s mother, Lillie, would tell a fact or two about some of the people buried there. I think that started me on my genealogy journey. I wish I had written down everything she said!
