August, age 46, and Wilhemine together with eight children arrived in New Orleans on 26 November 1855 from Prussia. They sailed on the ship Ernestine and their destination was Texas. The family settled in the Kendall County area where August became a naturalized citizen on 29 July 1867.
August Ludwig Pfeiffer was one of thirty-three inhabitants to purchase burial plots in the Boerne Cemetery in 1867.
